My favorite fictional cripple – oops, lame man – is Rainer Marie Rilke’s Ewald – because he is so full of wonder and joy and hope. My favorite real-life “lame” man is Charles Krauthammer because he is – so goddamn right! He wrote this particular article last March and I’ve posted before. The last word goes to the cripple:
